Russia Mission Team Returns to KC
Our team of 3 (Ken Westphal, Steve Sanks, and me) made it safely back to Kansas City…and we had a fantastic trip! It was great to spend time with the History Makers Church in Bryansk. They are already putting the sound system to good use! We were able to present the What You Do Best in the Body of Christ information to more than 20 people in the History Makers congregation. It was really a blessing to hear them share their reflections as they discovered more about how God has uniquely designed them. Pray for the History Makers as they take the next steps to continue this equipping ministry among their community of believers. Stay tuned for a Russia ‘08 Trip Video and photos from our trip to appear on the home page of the Heartland Missions website. Heartland is blessed to have this mission alliance with this amazing pack of next-generation believers in Bryansk!
Peace…

Latest News from Russia!

Hello Friends, Our Russia mission team is doing well. On Saturday in Moscow we purchased a sound system for The History Makers Church and then made the long trip to Bryansk. Sunday included a prayer meeting in the center of the city and the church service that evening. Monday we made preparations for the information from the What You Do Best in the Body of Christ book. They were very engaged and energized about it. Thanks for any prayers you can offer up for us.
Blessings to you,
Eric Rochester

Mission Team Returns from Nigeria
We’re back from Lagos Nigeria and a piece of our hearts will always remain on the grounds at the West African Theological Center. The students at WATS have such a burning desire to serve the Lord and the joy they express in this opportunity was very humbling at best. The training these men and women are receiving will be the future for spreading the gospel in Africa. For sure we left feeling priviledged to have had an opportunity to walk and work along side them if for only a brief time that left us uplifted in our own spiritual walk. We were able to see over 200 patients during the week, many of whom had never been to a doctor. The medications and supplies we were able to bring with us were put to good use immediatley and were greatly appreciated. We were making our own Supplies list as the week went along with excitement at being able to help provide more things to meet their needs in the future. We all felt we would love everyone at Heartland to have this experience! —Cynthia Pincombe

Update from Cynthia Pincombe in Nigeria
We are all doing well and staying very busy. Probably won’t email again as this is the first time it has been available and it takes a long long time to get to this point. We went out to the village on Sunday which was an unbelievable experience. Great people who were so gracious and none of whom has ever been exposed to a white person. We did medicals in the afternoon. Stayed there from 11:00 am till about 9:30 Pm and arrived back around 11:00pm. We showed the film Passion of the Christ that evening. Very very hot day, we laughed we didn’t know when we’d sweat so much and although it is a cold shower here it was wonderful late that night. We are busy in the clinic every day seeing things from Malaria, Typoid, allergies, hypertension, diabetes and numerous other ailments. We are keeping Dirk very busy as Martha and I take their medical histories. Nick has been kept extremely busy videoing as I think he’ll end up with all 10 cartridges filled at the rate he’s been working. They are so thankful for us and what a joyful group in the Lord to be around. If I don’t get another chance please tell everyone we are well.

Nigeria Mission Team leaves this Friday.
Please pray for the Heartland missions team of Cynthia Pincombe, Martha Comment, Dirk Davis, and Nicholas James, as they go to Nigeria during October 3-11. They will be going to Lagos, and connecting with Heartland’s mission alliance there, the West Africa Theological Seminary (WATS). The team will be helping with medical ministry and encouraging students at WATS. They will also spend time visiting a village about two hours away from WATS, which will take them outside of the greater Lagos area. They will be present for a showing of the Jesus film in this village, and also provide some medical care for the people of the village. Check back here soon to read about their trip.
